Transfer stations: waste and recycling disposal
Eight convenient locations across Leduc County
Leduc County has eight waste transfer stations throughout the County for residents to access when disposing or recycling. They are in Looma, Mission Beach, New Sarepta, Rolly View, Sunnybrook, Thorsby, Warburg and Wizard Lake.
All locations accept household waste, yard waste and recycling can be taken to any of the County’s eight transfer stations; blue bags included.
Leduc County’s blue bag program accepts the following clean and bagged items:
- tin cans and lids metal (such as aluminum cans, empty and non-hazardous aerosol cans)
- rigid plastic (such as margarine tubs, yogurt containers and soap bottles)
- paper (such as newsprint, inserts, flyers, envelopes, paper bags, magazines and books)
- flattened cardboard (such as shoe boxes and packing boxes)
- non-glass beverage containers (such as drink cans, milk cartons and Tetra® Pak containers)
Additional waste and recycling services can be accessed at the New Sarepta and Sunnybrook stations. These two locations accept:
- electronics (such as TVs, computers, small appliances and batteries)
- household Hazardous Waste (such as 20 lb. propane tanks, used oil and oil containers, and paint)
- white, enamelled metals, such as appliances
- scrap metal (excluding vehicles hulks, parts, engines)
- tires without rims
- agricultural twine

ACCESS CARDS
Transfer station access cards are free to County residents and must be presented to gain access. Cards are mailed to residents every two years. The cards currently in circulation will be in use until Aug. 31, 2026. Only new residents need to apply for an access card, or if a replacement or additional card is needed. Fees will apply for additional cards and replacement cards.
