Winter tips for waste cart placement

Leduc County residential customers who have curbside waste collection are asked to follow these tips when placing their waste carts for collection day each Tuesday:

• Clear snow and ice to place your cart, either at the end of your property or along the curb
• Ensure carts are not frozen into any ice or snow, the placement is level and unobstructed by snow accumulation
• Follow the one metre clearance on each side of a cart to make it accessible for waste collection operators

Other non-seasonal cart placement information to ensure successful collection include:

• Lids must close completely
• Placing carts and blue bags before 7 a.m. on collection day (Tuesdays)
• Face the cart to the roadway with the wheels to the curb or edge of the alley
• If parked cars obstruct access to carts, please move the cart further into the roadway
