Elder abuse often goes unnoticed, but it can happen anywhere at any time. Elder abuse can include financial, emotional, physical and sexual mistreatment or neglect. Often, more than one type of abuse occurs at the same time. Help keep our older adult community safe.

Seniors abuse helpline

If you, or someone you know, is experiencing abuse, please don't hesitate to call the Seniors' Abuse Helpline. The helpline is available 24 hours a day; seven days a week and they offer support, referrals and crisis intervention.

Seniors safe house

SAGE Seniors Association offers a safe house for seniors over the age of 60 who are leaving abusive situations.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) takes place each year on June 15. Leduc County provides educational resources on elder abuse in order to raise awareness in our community.
